Dr. Manoj Anaokar is a lyricist, storyteller, playwright, and screenplay writer whose creative expression spans literature, music, theatre, television, radio, and digital media. His work reflects a deep interest in human emotions, relationships, life experiences, and the stories hidden within everyday surroundings.
His story collection “Vastu Chata” presents imaginary characters whose lives are significantly shaped by the Vastus—the places, spaces, and built environments associated with their stories. Through these imaginative narratives, he explores the intriguing relationship between people and the environments that influence their lives.
As a playwright, he has written “Diste Tase Naste,” a two-act musical ballet-style stage drama that brings together theatrical storytelling, music, and dramatic expression.
His journey as a lyricist includes two original Marathi songs, “Athavaninchya Dohavarati” and “Akshatani Dile Kondan.” While the former explores the emotional depth of memories and nostalgia, the latter celebrates the sacred bond of marriage through heartfelt lyrics and traditional sentiments.
His creative pursuits also extend to digital storytelling through “Katha Katta,” a story-based programme on his YouTube channel. For this series, he has written original stories and screenplays, illustrated them through hand-drawn storyboard sketches, and narrated them in his own voice, creating an intimate storytelling experience that combines words, visuals, and narration.
Alongside his literary and artistic work, Dr. Anaokar has contributed to Marathi broadcasting and television through scriptwriting for Doordarshan’s Sahyadri Channel, Zee 24 Taas Marathi News Channel, and All India Radio, including scripts for news-based programs.
